WTF Sites

Sometimes we visit sites that do not appear to be precontact hilltop enclosures.  There's not always anything there, but some are interesting enough to drone.

A general overview of Hilltop Enclosures is presented in this video.

Golio Endeavors on YouTube

A single room was at the top of a dome shaped hill.  Ball bearing like rocks covered the steep sides of the hill.  The room was roundish, around 9ft diameter, and had a skewed entry on the northeast side.  The walls were around 4ft high.  There was no outer wall.  We did not find any artifacts.  The walls including the base did not look precontact.  This is a well visited site close to houses.  Either visitors took all the artifacts and rebuilt the structure or it was not a precontact site.

There was an outside retaining wall with an inside area which had a vertical beam and bolt jutting up in each corner.  Metal artifacts present included a large can and can top.  Broken thin glass (not bullseye) was on the ground.  The top of a small bottle of purple glass was also found.  The food cans were not opened with a can opener.   The center area may have been the base for a small structure or machine.  The pile of quartz rocks suggests that it had to do with mining.
